amy pickles is an artist and organiser. She used to make work about colonial infrastructures and their implications in communication technologies. Then she got stuck on the Cold War and her obsessions shifted into geopolitical metanarratives of this time and their repercussions on our current existences. Parts of the Cold War she is fixated on are; the artist as ideological messenger, 'democracy' and espionage, electronic battlegrounds, neuroscience and behavioural psychology in corporate management. She experiments with all of this by taking collective study as a form for her work. Recently studying has been articulated in games. She collects debris from these experiences and reconfigures it as experimental writing, sculpture, print, performance, sound and film.

She is a member of Varia and Filmwerkplaats, both in Rotterdam NL. Together with Clara J:son Borg she facilitates Performance Lab
